The thing about relationships

Why does everyone seem to have the idea that relationships are this divine destined birthright that we have. Were freaking human beings. the most unnatural creatures in nature. So why do we treat one of our main behavior patterns, the one thing that greatly sets us apart from the rest of life as some sort of naturally occurring birthright.
