So you may have heard of her, if not here’s the gucci gucci video. This rAnt is going to be heavily dependent on you having these videos fresh in your mind soooo nike.

rAnt coming but first, here is sugar hill gang’s* “rappers delight”

Ohtay, here goes. Gucci, Gucci, Louis, Louis, Kreayshawn is a Rapper. Let me first address some of the more common objections to her rapness.

her style. her lyrics. her race.

Those three pics, all rappers. yeah yeah many of you are with me on how wack waka is but still, am confident many Kreayshawn haters flock to flocka. Now one may say all three in one is a little much, plus adding in whether her persona is manufactured, and to you I say, be realistic about the music industry of GTFO.

We all have a certain BS meter, and with many of us, that thing is constantly from full dealing with the everyday absurdities we have put in our life that at times when confronted by something that is way less absurd compared to some of our daily routines, we flip out against it since we cannot accommodate any more BS. much, much more on this train of rAnt to come, much more.

Lady Gaga and more recently Nicki Minaj have taken this manufactured thing to another level. Not sure about Nicki’s dedication, but I can picture Gaga sitting at home eating cheerios while dressed as a smorgasbord of cereal mascots. Her persona is deliberate, it is calculated was she born that way, well yeah sure, insofar that it takes a certain type of person to do what she does for what she gets, but not in the sense that she would do it for free. And if she did that’s what mental institutions are for. It is an industry, artists create an image, sell you that image to sell that song, that drink, that gear, that show etc etc.

Back to that chick Krea.

This Gucci Gucci song was on the radio in Nairobi Kenya 3 weeks ago. This is more of a testament to how communication has advanced, as when I was here over 15 yrs ago, the only current music you had was billboard top 10. There tended to be a delay of years on getting songs. The first CD my older brother got was Skee lo… ah now this is making me wish i was a little bit younger.

In ’94 I left Kenya when Rappers Delight and songs of that style were still on regular play then got to the states in when these albums like Illmatic, Ready to Die , Hard to earn and Southerplayalisticcadilacmuzik were dropping. I got to the States and there was a big mix of styles. The roots of Hip Hop had a funk influence as can be seen in acts such as Afrika Bambaataa. It was the disco era and some music had a disco tinge. Some of those synthesizery sounds that have a connection to the west coast feel to it, be it Westside connection or yes, Kreayshawn.

She is a rapper.

Is she’s really high in many of her videos? Do some of her songs sound like chipmunk versions of actual songs? Are many of said songs under 2 minutes long? Yes, yes and Yes. But… a lot of rappers toke/ hello, Lil Wayne/ Mixtapes.

She is a rapper

One thing that can be agreed is that Rap begun as mostly feel good have fun music. A big intention was to get people away from crime and violence with a positive involvement in music and dancing. Think of the Rappers Delight video, think of the earliest rap and hip hop. Keep the imagery, lyrics and sound in mind when you watch the Kreayshawn video. Considering the change in time and location, what makes makes it so alien to rapper’s delight but All of the Lights is all right? How different are her lyrics than those in California Love? a song whose video begins with the words “he who controlled the dance-floor, controlled the people.”

We can argue her ability and quality but i don’t think her status as or right to be a rapper is questionable. People who complain that music is not the same anymore are just to lazy to find the music they used to listen to. Don’t turn on basic non ‘satelite-with-5-million-stations-for-as-long-as-its-still-in-space-and-not-crashing-down-on-75%-of-the-earth-in-a-fiery-mess’ radio (tru facts) and expect to find your specific genre of music. You want conscious rap? You can find it. You want hard gangsta rap from actual true hood niggs? You can find it. Whatever niche you want in whatever genre of music you like, you can find it; they didn’t stop making it because you stopped hearing it, you’re not that special

The general popular hip hop music will continue to be songs with danceable beats, smoothly delivered catchy hooks that keep us supermaning, dougieng in one big room, full of bad bitches that don’t bother wearing Gucci, Loius or Prada because basic bitches do.

So before the aforementioned satellite ends your life you can find my boys latest video and some other goodies below

The pen is mightier than the sword. Information has long been a proven catalyst for change. Once it could be written endless things could be done. We should of who is behind the information, not only from those currently in power but ever increasingly from our fellow peers. Media can be used to both bestow knowledge and perpetuate ignorance.

I was discussing the unfortunate state of many developing countries, specifically in Sub-saharan Africa, when i compared them to hot-lead age of gangland America (early 1900′s entertainingly depicted in movies such as Miller’s crossing). The comparison fit, with the lines between thuggery, politicking, enterprising, preaching and many other social pillars in most of the developing world being essentially intangible when found. It was quite a depressing thought as per the comparison, it could be assumed that it would take the 50+ years to change for the better.

I quickly came to a realization that can gladly drastically cut down the time, communication.

The comparison to gangland is only partially fitting. It may be more accurate to describe it as a mix of post colonial, old west and gangland America. This presents the developing world with assorted historical hurdles as well as unprecedented potential aide.

Post colonial would fit due to the relative youth of most developing countries. The older countries just approaching 50 years of governing themselves without direct colonial participation and the youngest one, South Sudan, less than a week into it after decades of civil strife.

Old west would fit due to the living conditions of most people in the developing countries. though states and the governmental structure that goes along with them have been established, they do not factor in the daily lives, weeks or months of the a large majority of the citizens, whose main interaction with their state and representatives comes during election time.

Gangland would fit due to the high levels of blatant institutionalized crime and corruption in most urban areas. You can watch the news and see that the charred remains of a disheveled homeless man in lynched in the slums for stealing a chicken to feed his starving family by the same citizens whom in the following story, are standing by their elected Minister of Parliament as he directs his bodyguards to break off the clamp on his illegally parked car in the center of the capital city (unfortunate tru fax The MP is the potbellied chap in the green pants with the approaching Mr.T levels of tacky chains around his neck).

Communication can bring change

The ability to communicate today is clearly exponentially greater than in any of the above times, what needs to improve is the access. Take Kenya for example, arguably the most stable country in East Africa and one of the better regarded ones in Sub-Saharan Africa, which has a dismal electrical penetration of under 20% compared to South Africa which >70% and first world countries >90% range. Electricity can improve quality of life will be increased in numerous ways for example giving children adequate light at night to study. These children, their families and communities my begin to access information sources such as the internet, television and radio regular-am-fm-non-sirius broadcast radio still being big in developing countries and with that social change can easily follow.

Communication can bring social accountability.

I am not counting on Jasmine Revolutionish change, but simply presenting a broader, less biased source of news and information, outside of the rumors they are accustomed to can change the belief that their MP was unjustly targeted by the unscrupulous city council because ‘he represents the poor,’ to an informed opinion of a man living in a life quite elevated from their own, committing a crime with impunity that they would never be afforded for simply stealing a chicken out of hunger. They may start truly voting on issues and not empty campaign trail promises and gifts read as bribes of food and drink. It can begin to curtail blatantly out of control levels of impunity.

Communication can bring inspiration.

if you are sitting in a room and when you look out of the window you see something is amiss yes it is odd analogy time to give this post sufficient rant flavour. Whenever you begin to mention it, everyone in the room tells you, not to worry about that, there isn’t anything that can be done, its just the way things are, so after a while you begin to ignore it. Now let’s say someone from another room much similar to yours can contacts you and says that they too see something amiss. Together you may find the courage to convince the others in your respective rooms of this problem, or in the least create a debate on what can be done to change it. Another form of inspiration can come from outside influences. A lot can ,has and will most assuredly in future rants be said of the negative, at times unabashedly self-centered, effect of foreign interests in the past, present and likely future; but simply knowing more about life in those countries can better equip the locals. Showing a villager in a rural area their local town on Google maps could could easily make them a more responsible member of their community, town, nation, continent and world (that is once you actually convince them of its credibility and they get over their probable shock and awe). Policy makers can avoid mistakes made in the development of other countries and better decipher which intentions are intended to benefit the aiding countries far more than those being aided.

facebook, twitter, google, yahoo, wikipedia as catalysts for change

The pen is mightier than the sword. Information has long been a proven catalyst for change. Once it could be written endless things could be done. We should take heed to who is behind the information, not only from those currently in power but ever increasingly from our fellow peers. Media can be used to both bestow knowledge and perpetuate ignorance. But through responsible, educated and unbiased creation and consumption of information and with the current social movement I can propose that the ‘the key to change is the Key.’

First post in over a year. Was a little more restrained and analytical on this than many rants and I will likely move it to my What’s the Good News Blog which will have a more editorial and newsly feel, not going to promise any return to any regular schedule of updates but you can expect a few more of these rAntalytical posts coming soon so feel free to rss or keep checking in for those and more. Also thanks to new readers, those that have been reading and those that may be coming back after some time away.

I do plan on continuing the adding a video at the end of the post. I find the girls in this video rather cute, and it’s a chill song. Warning to some Soulja Boy Tell ‘em is in the vid but you can jump to the 31 second mark to avoid him… could be worse, they could have done a song with Wacka Flocka. What’s that? They already did!? Vistosso Bosses – Delirious. Enjoy.

You know you want it

I play video games, my friends play video games, we play them together we watch each other play them. We would all love to have this game and i think many others would too.

This cover is inspired by one friends placed Knut as his profile picture and we had often wondered about how it would be to play the game form the losing vantage point of that Axis forces and have to coordinate retreats and such.

Those who thought I made this because everything German is Nazi, shame on you only most things German are Nazi. I wonder if this will be flagged in Germany for using German and Nazi too often and too close together,

The same friend had just finally reached level 31 on the popular Nazi Zombies mod of Call of Duty World at War. (Co-op on ps3 with the drinks and super weapons) This may understandably not seem like an achievement to many of you but it is pretty good. Not impressed ? take a look at this …

this is news

Really? Mike Leyde, of Riverside, CA. Over 2000 hours? I have thought of how many hours I spent playing minesweeper and other basic Microsoft gaming selections, not to mention just Squaresoft Role playing games but i doubt ive put 2000 into one game (article here)

This should not get him fame but shame, I propose a new tier of well known people called the Shamous, pronounced similar to Séamas, Seumus, Shaymus or Shamus the Irish forms of James, but not reserved to Irish folk, though I bet some inebriated Ire’s make it on the Shamous map. Why is this news? should they be an article or at most just this little piece saying this guy spent shamous amounts of time playing this game.

if you are still reading and expecting information on Call of Duty 6 : Kill Nazi Everything! i would apologize for misleading you but since you prolly (no typo I like typing it like that) wont even notice if I don’t, instead go back and read the text on the cover above.

Now i will present you with a very fitting video depicting some of the inanity or fun… that is repetitive gaming as well as something that is bound to offend a few. You have been warned.

I follow sports more, now that I am in italy than when I could watch ESPN and competitions on TV in America. This is mostly due to reading Yahoo! Sports. It has become increasingly hit or miss. I am either enthralled with the article, or find myself wondering why the hell anyone needs to know this random stat about so and so before his what n there game.

Is Tiger and never was anything but Tiger

I hardly ever do comment on these sports stories but do at times marvel at the comments from the ‘true believers’ vs everyone else of whatever sport, team or athlete is being discussed. Today I felt the need to comment after reading the article ”Backlash: players, media speaking out, standing up to Tiger.” If you do not feel like reading the entire the summary is as such, Tiger is giving a press conference, it coincides with some golf tournament opening, toes have been stepped on, rich people that used to act like they like tiger now act like they don’t like him. The excerpt that made me want to comment is below this short clip that you should listen to before reading audio is not in sync with the video but i could not find a better one.

“disgusted people who believe Woods ought to answer questions, if not about his family — which is a justifiably off-limits target — then at least about the way his actions have affected the hundreds of people who have millions of dollars at stake in protecting his image.”

These people can go wipe their tears of disgust and fury away with the millions they already made from him.

These are the group of people who decided it would be better if Tiger stopped referring to himself as Cablasian because Black would sell more. Situations like this happen, I am sure some of them are actually disgusted by the act of infidelity, though it is not a stretch to think they may have urged him into marriage in order to improve his image. These people are disgusted. Most are disgusted that he got caught.

Think about how high the divorce rate is. Then if you take those reasons for the divorce rate and apply them to those relationships that stay together, how many would break apart if not for their religious views, shared finances, families (both with their partner and appearing shameful in the eyes of the extended family) or worse just not knowing that they can.

I do not buy this disgust!

Pardon me if I do not feel for these millionaires not adding to their millions. In general we do not care about these Athletes. We let them into our homes, but we do not live with them. We claim to love them but we do not know these people. We spend our well earned money to see them but they do not owe you anything besides playing their selected sport how they want when they want. We love to see them win but we do not stand on the podium with them, we do not feel the weight of the trophy as they lift it while the weight on their shoulders drops onto the crestfallen heads of the losers. We take what is spoon-fed to us and we create our own image and expectations of them. We take what we think of them and create this cage for that idea with bars made of our own hopes and dreams, successes and failures, wishes and regrets. Then when they do not live up to who we view them as, when they actually do them, when they actually go Tiger, we cry afoul.

We disgust me.

There is this Jason Derulo song that is big, people wonder what the sample is from, wonder no more to see the goddesongststress that is Imogen Heep

just listened to the two videos and realized all over again how magnificent Imogen is. amazes me.

live

My thoughts on Limbaugh and Robertson fiasco.

My thoughts on Limbaugh and Robertson fiasco.

I think what they said was rather ridiculous, but sadly one thing I don’t think the statements were, are signs of them lacking humanity. These two people spoke their thoughts, their human thoughts.

human thoughts illustrated

I will begin with Pat Robertson. Even if you don’t believe in the pact of the devil, (and if you do you probably also are against Robert Pattison and all the other vampire craze instigators since we all know vampires are really demons and of the devil) but do in some religion and deity, then you may believe the earthquake was allowed to go down. Or it is some sort of Divine plan beyond our understanding. Or retribution for something or a continued battle between good and evil where evil won out or a test of our and their faith in him.

It is well documented that the impoverished tend to be more religious than the well off, Haiti is thought to be composed by around 80% Roman Catholics, 16% Protestant and the other 4%, other ( Religion in Haiti though some Vodou is present this is more of a cultural thing like the belief that one is not complete without a favorite football team or turkey on thanksgiving).

Pat Robertson said what he believes. He believes he has found the One way to human salvation. He opened with a comment on the fact more buildings having collapsed than not may be a blessing in disguise due to the rebuilding that may come, said some stuff about Napoleon the 3rd and a pact with the devil for freedom, then finished with saying we need to pray for them and hoping they all turn to god.

Haiti was emancipated from under Napoleon ‘Complex’ Bonaparte, not his Nephew Napoleon III, so we can say he was wrong. Wrong, but not inhuman, for to err is human to forgive divine. So we can say Robertson believes that the pact with the devil may only have been forgiven by a 100% christian population . Now since ) what would be ‘inhuman’ is if he kept this a secret. If did not do all in his power to convert everyone to this way to salvation. Felt he was safe so there was no need to speak out on this this earthquake as a warning, lest some other less than 100% christian country (USA is about 75%, though no devil pact is on record, besides record box office numbers and neilsen ratings since society sure does loooove vampires) have some terror befall them.

Rushing on to Rush (YEAH I SAID IT, WANNA FIGHT ABOUT IT!?!)…It’s Rush, c’mon now. He prolly felt upstaged by Pat and felt he better say something soon. And this Devil thing, quite the headline grabber that is, what on earth could top that, what could hurt the most, oh wait I know, you know, Rush knew even Col. Jessup* knows. The Truth. Nothing hurts more than the truth. OFF COURSE OBAMA IS TRYING TO SCORE POLITICAL POINTS!!!

Please, no one anywhere should deny this isht. It is politics, politicians everywhere are trying to gain points on this. Is this the only reason they are helping? No, certainly not, this is a tragedy. Is how they are helping dictated by politics? Ah, Heeeeeellllzzzzzzzz yeth. Are countries looking at other countries to see what they give so they can match it and not seem to be slacking and not as caring? Of course not, that would be terrible to do, measure compassion. Are countries putting their political processes on hold so they can concentrate on Haiti and wait for their populations to settle back down and know what laws and such are being enacted and passed? eh whats that behind you?!?!

So Rush spoke the truth, it may be more heated because of what ‘colour’ Obama’s father was, who said it and the fact that there is that whole Obama won partially because of the light skin and no negro dialect.(that deserves its own rAnt in and of itself but all ill say is if Obama looked and sounded like flava flav and said everything Obama said, Black people would have been the first to say “No, You Can’t!!!”)

Do you know anyone on Facebook with a help Haiti message? (my thoughts on Facebook status messages Jew know what Gaza did!?! / “(Your name) is my Hero” : best Facebook status message ever!” ) I do, not as annoying this time as other times.

I remember watching the news with my mom right after it happened, as the science guys gave us the science and the first twitter pictures (another thing that usually angers me but since its to good use and not people named after mexican alcohol use) were coming in to CNN. We discussed how late this happened, how long it will take for help to get there, how densely populated it is and finally just how high the death-toll will obviously be. As CNN and the other news outlets began to deploy their reporters, I thought to myself “not watching a news channel for a week.” I would rather check in on online sources than the 24 hour coverage. People will be dead, people will be helping, people will be angry, people will be praying, people will be confused, people will be crying.

My issue with this is the timing. If all the concern and aide that is pouring into Haiti had been given slowly and steadily over the last 50 years, the death-toll today would not be what it is 40,000 still buried and 100,000 feared dead so 140,000 by bbc internationals estimate an hour ago(I watched the news at diner time because there is literally nothing on most of the time, even on satellite TV). In a year or less most of us will return to being human and forget about Haiti and other places that need help. If being human is showing concern for people only after terrible things happen, then we should either strive to be more than human, or in the least break down these borders and let people know that terrible things are happening all the time.

Cruise ship lands in Haiti. Self Serving people sure to be up in arms. Tourism is a huge industry for Haiti. The cruise ship landing there now at this time is so horrible because the people are suffering instead of just living their regular lives that were not as comparatively hellish to those on the cruise ship. We should actually have a few week ban on all vacations anywhere.

Ah, back rAnting, see i am human too as I too had this reaction to something terrible to come back to rAnt, I will try to add an illustration if time allows but now lets work to be “More Human than Human.” -White zombie

…white half talking. Many of you have seen the Kanye eruption and if not have been caught in the avalanche of response to it. If not here is the gist of it, Taylor Swift, young mega famous in her own right country singer, wins an award that Beyonce was also nominated for. Kanye gets up right in the middle of the cute , lil, rich, still famous, still getting the award, girl’s speech and gets on the stage. He then proceeds to… well to be Kanye, may have been even more Kanye thanks to the bottle of Hennessey* he was pictured with holding during the night… though if this is what a bottle of Hennessey results in, They should give every one a bottle of Hennessey at the start of the Red carpet and not let them into the venue unless its half finished by the time they get to the doors, I would watch more Awards show’s, so would you and so would the people that tell Obama about it.

Then the world then looses its isht. or at least most people with an Internets connection.

Most people seem to agree on 3 things. One, Beyonce had the better video and won an award later for it. Two, Kanye was wrong for how and when he went about saying it. Three, they are now no longer a fan of Kanye.

Here are my thoughts.

One, on an aspect of video itself then yes Beyonce was more… entertaining, with the choreography and what not, as for the content I have previously rAnted about that. Many people feel the same, but apparently enough of the people who vote for things like the music awards liked Taylor’s video. this could be used as a what happens when you dont’ exercise voting rights campaign. More people may have liked Beyonce’s but many of those people probably feel awards shows are cowdookie so don’t vote. Then there is the whole MTV execs ‘Beyonce is already winning an award let us let Taylor get some love too and increase our fanbase.’ which is an option that falls into the bovinefecesiness of award shows

Two say what you want Kanye, it’s your right just as it is his right to say whatever he wants whenever he wants now i know by law there are situations where it may not be allowed, slanderous and what not, but in this case i do not think anyone has a case against him. Kanye got up and said what many people felt and though i felt a little bad for T squints, T swizzle or whatever other cute name the tall blonde hottness that is Taylor Swift, I was mostly humoured by the situation. Kanye got up and spoke what was on many peoples minds, I for one am sick of this super cordial way people are expected to be… more on this soon.

Three. I will continue to be a fan of good music, well more specifically, music I find entertaining and good to listen to. I will continue to be a fan of Kanye’s music. This latest outburst does not affect this. Ask yourself why it would , is it that before this he would come over to your house with brownies and play X-Box with you? Now this guy you knew so well is all of a sudden on the list of people that you would no longer let in your home?!! This ‘prince among men’ that has never previously shown and signs of having an ego, of speaking out when he sees fit, or of course of comporting himself in bland award show ‘smile for the person you think is less talented that just won ‘ fashion. Wrong! this is Kanye, may have been a drunk Kanye, but this Kanye made all the hits that you listened to before, are listening to now and will listen to in the future, You are right Mr. President, the man is seemingly a Jackass, but he is a dyamn talented one, much more talented than the garden variety jackasses i meet in my day to day life. Next time Kanye makes a hott track im listening to it, whether he just joined a monastery the day before or is in now doomed to hell after he was caught in St. Peters square peeing on the pope

T Swizzle cuteness:

Really let it go people this event is not going to leave her scarred for life… any lil inconvenience can be challenged into her country singing.

Soon no one shall be safe from the TWEET???? we should have let Sylvester eat them all when we still had the chance. Here is the Obama Article

*for a great picture account of Kanye and the Hennessey bottle click here Buzzfeed

The consummate professional that Beyonce is let t squints get back up on stage and finish her speech but Sasha Fierce luvs her some Kanye. Mrs Z and Mr West ego stroking

Just attended my first wedding, not counting the several attended as a child with my parents not only did I attend but I was one of the groomsmen for My older brother. Now he knows how I feel about weddings and wearing suits but after 9 years of no suit and a few wedding invite turn downs I was there, and had a great time. There is a lot i plan on going into surrounding weddings marriage and other events that occurred around this occasion…there may be time for that. I would like to make time to focus on what weddings are about*, Family.

I am now more than I have ever believe that there is a large difference between being related to someone and being ones families. Not so much you say? Does an adopted kid with 2 loving parents not have a family? If blood relations were a prerequisite for family then marriage would not make one family or on the other hand we would all be related, well in the biblical and most other religious senses we would be due to shared ancestry. What exactly do you define as family?

As marriage is an extension of dating and that aspect of relationships I will use observations from dating in order ignite some thought in whom we consider family. My mother, brother Sister and I moved to America in 1994. I was 11 and it was the 3rd continent we had lived in. Never lived in one place long enough to develop the urge to have a clique, let alone the seemingly unspoken rule in Western culture that men and women can not be friends without ulterior motive (At least once the ulterior motives for hugs no longer end at a quick snapping of the bra… for her little pain and your laughing pleasure as you run off) I was one of the few guys who had female friends.

Girls would often come to me to discuss relationship issues they have and eventually the guys did too in their own ways the same to some level. AS we all got older the issues remained, which worried me as before the issues sometimes stemmed from the inexperience and fleetingness of crushes and high-school flings, but now the same was coming form serious feelings from supposedly ‘experienced’ people and there was potential for actual marriage and family making. A friend that was dating another friend of mine came to me for some advice on another of the similar issues and complaints that they both had for their multiple year on and off relationship. I asked them if they considered me a good friend, they said yes. Then i asked them to think of the things the person they are with had done and continues to do. Then i asked them if we would still be friends if i did even a fraction of those things. They said no. Then i asked them to think about why they let someone who is supposedly more important to them than all of their friends get away with things more things that you would let all their combined friends do to them. Why do many of us hold the one we are with to lower standards than we do our friends? Could it be that we are holding them to the ‘family’ standard, since they could potentially be family?

This family standard I refer to is that of letting them get away with the grimiest isht just because they are family. It is the feeling that brings random 5th and 6th cousins out of the woodwork when someone gets ahead in life. It is the feeling that would probably have my mother saying i didn’t do it even if she caught me standing there with blood on one hand and in the other a knife. I refuse to have it be the feeling that results in me having a wife. And neither should you or anyone else.

One example is hardly enough to convince anyone of anything so here is some more. I had a great time meeting my Mothers sisters again after 15 long years. I mixed up the names of her two eldest sisters and while we laughed as they corrected me, I crouched down and looked up at them and said maybe I would have recognized them better from that angle as it was the way I knew them for the 5 years i was in Kenya.

The first time I saw a blood relative was when one auntie came to visit us in France when i was about 3. I don’t even really remember it but i’m told it happened, then from 5.5 to 11 years of age, lived in Kenya. now this may be an African thing but i never had the shortage of Aunties and Uncles growing up, actually Miriam, half malay – half italian expressed the same thing happening. Close family friends to colleagues were called as such by younger people. Still to this day I have to ask if there is an actual relation. Well at least with the families of african descent, the few non african aunties and uncles it was rather easy to tell… although by now there are a few married in.

With this marriage there are now a bunch of people to the already large number of blood relatives that know me less than the bartenders at Cafe Peru (a little bar i go to when I’m in Rome). Saying this is not to point a finger anywhere, circumstances just resulted in near relatives not being in a situation to provide what ‘family’ typically does. My mother always and continues to push in the connection, but to her, my relatives and to you that are reading this I did not live without people who helped, who cared, who laughed, who cried, who supported, who led by example. I had many friends, I was not without family. I say to the new relatives and the old ones, I appreciate any positive feelings you have towards me but I would cherish feelings built on a foundation of friendship and actually knowing me and not just falling back on a social niceties.

I would rather someone assumed the worst about me and left me alone than tried to be a part of my life by assuming good things about me.

Ok my new lil sister told me earlier today about reading Rantatonne and said i think too much, so let me get to the point. I say little sister, not because I love and care for my older brother and he and she love and care for each other. I say sis not because my Mother has taken her in to the nest and i don’t find it weird when she calls her mom. I say sis unit not because she has become the older sister my other lil sister has wanted for her 21 years of living with 2 older brothers. I do not say family because having her in the house is like being in the house alone. I say sister for all these things and more, because she is just that, my friend, and my sis, Stella.

Merriam-Webster dictionary definitions for Family and Relative

*weddings pertain to be about this new Family when in many cases we all know it is about more. Money, religion, social constructs, alliances, power etc etc One of the things i find odd is when people say they want to be a princess on their wedding day. They forget that pretty much most royal weddings are not for love and in many cases decided far before the princess even has an idea of what marriage is, in some cases the princesses did not even meet whom they were to be married to and they had no say in the matter whatsoever.

Welcome back to Rantatonne, apologies for the almost year long silence. The emotional content of this rAnt may be partially due to listening to the following song while rAnting

sooooooo there are many reasons to dislike beyonce a few of which i have previously touched upon in the rAnt Beyonce looks like… but i have to say after multiple listens to this song i am now 50.000000000000000000000000000133 % in like with Beyonce

here is the link to her official video. HALO : BEYONCE. You cannot embed it, i was going to put a smart insult here to a reason why but i can’t think of one I am out of rAnt form… maybe in a few weeks ill come back and write something funny. If you havent seen it, she doesnt look terrible in it, the whole video is like the part in the No Doubt video ‘Underneath it all’ when it gets all dreamy and Gwen Stefani has the ‘make it look like you have no make-up’ make-up on and gets even hotter, speaking of which here is Gwen…

Some interesting cinematography, Some ok music, Some good depiction of the bland proper upper class lifestyle (where people have million dollar homes they go to when escaping their other million dollar homes)

All in all a rather crap movie. Watch “A Clockwork Orange,” if you haven’t, and save yourself the disappointment that is “Funny Games.” If you’ve watched “Orange”, re-watch it or read the book and save yourself the disappointment that is “Funny Games.” Maybe this is a version of Clockwork for the new age (ie those that have nto heard of Orange)…but for me the calling each other different names like Beavis and Butthead and other odd references, although made some sense with them pointing out violent and odd media and also certain social buttons such as the weight issue, it was…well not enough. Maybe i’m getting old, maybe this would have been better if i had not seen Orange.

*just found out it was a remake of a 1997 australian film, weak. I may give the original a watch but i doubt ill re-watch the remake.

First, WTF!?!

Now on to the rAnt. I will venture to say that most of the women that wear it do so proudly. With as much pride as most church-goers have when they imbue the blood and body of Christ.

I have met many Muslim women that do not practice hijab as strongly as others if at all. I have also met many non-Muslim women that choose to dress as conservatively as many if following hijab.

On the other spectrum there are many women that wear near to nothing. Dressing provocatively and such…wench-like to be more exact. And when they walk around those that do not ogle them tend to scorn them. Or ogling followed by scorn. These women may have been influenced by their societies but their fashion choice is essentially just that, a choice. Different ends of the spectrum, both being questioned by society for their appearance, could the issue more be society wanting for people to conform to a comfy middle?

Sure some certain countries tie this belief into the laws of the country and even foreigners visiting are held to the same standard but, what is so wrong with that? How different is that from going to someones house and speaking the language, driving on their side of the road, eating the foods they find customary.

Who would honestly claim that religion and state are separate. You want to say that a religious person who goes into politics will not include his beliefs, the very way he believes is the best and right way to live, in his choices for himself, his family, friends and constituents?

Could these mostly Muslim states just closely follow the guidelines of the words they feel were given to them by an omnipotent being, words which humans should not feel able to change according to changing times. Living in Italy the effect of the Vatican and Catholicism can be strongly felt in the countries general policies, yet on international women’s day, there was a 5 minute spot of various scenes of naked women on a regular public television show at 6 in the afternoon (how this celebrated Women’s day, i do not know, but that is another rAnt) I firmly believe that this would not have been allowed to air on American Television, although such people are Paris Hilton as well known for her sexual antics as anything else she has kinda sorta done are given ample time to shine. I feel this ‘censorship’ in America is on the same line of thought as that of hajib, as i believe they are both religiously given morals. Both try to avoid unwanted effects of overexposure of sex.

I am personally very attracted by eyes. In many cases the full hajib tends to frame the face and eyes. I have found myself speechless by a girl with what i consider amazing eyes. Many men and women love other physical attributes as much as i do eyes. And as many men and women can recall some time or other when they hung around a situation or person due to their physical attributes in a situation when you would otherwise have left. I got by the speechlessness to find great people behind the eyes that once struck me dumb, but the distracting qualities of physical attributes are undeniable.

Are they some more negative effects of the practice and belief in hajib, yes they are, just as with any other belief. the human quotient usually finds a way to twist something that was initially intended for good purposes to something negative. times do change, beliefs and practices that once made sense may not after a few years let alone thousands. I agree with that and encourage continued discourse on the subject but for a statements such as “Muslim women are forced to practice Hijab,” I have nothing but scorn.

I said in the previous rAnt that the next one would be about positivisms or sexism, this rAnt was nto about that but i have a few more women related rAnts that i would like to share besides it is a rAnt and i can not be held responsible for all guarantees made whilst in rAntmode! and i believe that those who as regular a reader to care will also be happy enough with this rAnt.

For the bonus, after clicking continue reading below, you will find a little story i came up with to show the relative nature of the whole judging peoples physical appearance as well as a link to a story that has never made me prouder of my highschool education!

I went to this school:

Kansas Church Says It Will Protest at Whitman High in MoCo

I find it great that the washington post calls Montgomery County MoCo when it used to be what we would shout our when fake repping our ‘hood in middle and highschool.

Ok Imagine you see a Muslim girl in your class wearing loose fitting jeans a light spring sweater and a scarf covering her head and you wonder, “wtf is wrong with this girl?” Then you see her mother and father pick her up and her mother is wearing more of the classic full gown , jilbāb then think, “it’s not the girl’s fault she is being forced to wear that by her mother and father.” this forceful mother is the same one who has been shunned by her own mother, the grandmother to a granddaughter who she refuses to see because much she is even worse than her heathen daughter for showing her face instead of wearing the full Burqua. This same granddaughter feels that there is no way she could ever bee as risque as the Midwest woman she saw choosing to go bra-less for woman’s rights, and came to school to talk about the feminist movement. The same woman who feels the daughter of their local preacher must be a brainwashed result of the conservative right for the way she always dresses so proper and has been forced to attend that catholic school. All the while this poor lil catholic girl is sleeping with the Midwest woman’s husband, the boyfriend of the Muslim girl and is in the dreams of the Muslim father that you said is forcing the girl in your class to dress as she does.

PeTA , of whom no love of mine is lost on, is however not the reason for this rAnt. the following is an excerpt from an article i read today:

NY Post apologizes — to some — over Obama cartoon

NEW YORK – After two days of protests, the New York Post apologized Thursday for a cartoon that some have interpreted as comparing President Barack Obama to a violent chimpanzee gunned down by police. But the newspaper also said its longtime antagonists exploited the image for revenge.

entire of the article

WTF, does not cover my reaction to this! How on earth does this count as an attack on President Obama. If anything the people insinuating the monkey is Obama are the ones with issues. I would go into it more but do not want this to be the first full rAnt on about Obama. When will this insanity end? Are they claiming that the white half of Obama is also being portrayed as a chimp by this cartoon?

I knew the whole ‘black’ president thing would be the cause of some odd situations but come on? this is a reach by all standards. Who really still does the whole black people are monkeys thing? Those that think anyone descended from monkeys and not some naked folk made of mud and a rib in a garden or some other faith-plausible origin actually thing we all may have descended from monkeys, or relatives of them. All of us, Black Yellow, White, Brown and whatever else you want to call people who are really not those colours at all. (well except djimon Hounsou, thats one dark mofo, i kid i kid, well not so much. he is dark)

I do not believe this was a direct stab at Obama, the presidency is an office, he is like a spokesperson for an entire branch. The efforts of entire branch were being targeted by the cartoon. Not just Half of Obama. Were thee editors who though of the possible material that muckrakers could use to stage a backlash? More likely than not seeing as they have covered stories of such ridiculous claims before. And as the semi annoying saying goes, “there is no such thing as bad press.”

I hope you read the article if not here is a what one protester had to say about the NV Post:

“We make them and we break them with our money, and we should shut it down,” said protester Angela Brown, who carried a glossy photo of Obama.

Ms. Brown, you stopping to read the New York Post would surely be the end of Rupert Murdoch media empire.

here is the unedited cartoon
