This ‘not all’ tendency when dealing with generalizations and discussing issues is tiring. It is unfortunately more common in various forms. When was the last time you discussed a controversial topic and needed to “of course I don’t mean all,” or have someone reply with “Are you saying all?”

Are you just not being clear when they ask that, do they view you as a bigot or is the person assuming you are too much of an imbecile to tell it is a generalization without them indicating it isn’t all? So annoying.

Oh for sure you can’t mean ALL not  all arguments? Oh here we go now #NotAllNotAllArguments ah…
